Tuomas Korkalo (1978, Rovaniemi) studied Fine Arts at the Imatra Art School (Imatra, Finland), having graduated in 2008. Korkalo lives and works in Rovaniemi. He works with various techniques and media. Korkalo draw, paint and make installations. He is involved in different kinds of projects in socially engaged art and environmental art, and he works alone, jointly and in interdisciplinary projects. Korkalo has had solo and group exhibitions in Finland and abroad since 2000. Tuomas Korkalo is a founding member of Oranki Art Environmental Art international workshop and the exhibition and he is work as a curator of the exhibition since 2001.
I work currently with abstract paintings adapting to the Russian avant-garde. The works will be installed in the spirit of the 0.10 the Last Futurist Exhibition of Paintings as in Nadezda Dobyzina Art Salon in the former Petrograd between 1915-16. (Kazimir Malevits and the Black Square in the corner).
