I am a recent 2018 graduate from Goldsmiths MFA Fine Art programme. Prior to that, I undertook studies at The School of The Damned, a non accredited alternative MFA programme in London, finishing in 2016. I have spent time living and working in Geneva, where in 2014 I participated in The Embassy of Foreign Artists, made possible by receiving a Scholarship from The Canton of Geneva. In 2012, I spent a year in New York, studying in The Arts Students League after being awarded The Elizabeth V. Sullivan Scholarship at The Vytlacil School. Since completing my BA in 2007 at The Cass, London, I have participated in over 50 group shows globally, as well as having solo shows in UK, Switzerland, Denmark and USA.
I have been working with clothing, costume and painting. Influenced by the childhood cut out games of 'Paper Dolls' I have been creating large scale costume paintings based upon fantasy characters, as well as paper clothes influenced by 'Joss' clothing, which is a ceremonial object brunt in the Far East as an act of remembrance and to signify re birth and the continuing cycle of the after life. From November 2018, I start a residency at Husk gallery in Limehouse, London, on the production of works on paper. Making specific works in the residency setting would allow time to explore and experiment with my paper clothes, which I would hope to show case at ArtRooms in January 2019.
