Biography

Lou Sprockett creates photorealistic drawings using just two mechanical pencils with HB and 2B leads, combining an intricate level of detail with a strong use of chiaroscuro. Focusing on just one subject matter, motorcycles, Lou combines layers of graphite and mark-making and the beauty of the untouched paper to create sensations of both texture and light. Already a professional artist in another field, Lou has let loose a passion for travel and drawing working under an alias. But buy an artwork and you’ll get to know the artist behind it.

Project

Lou Sprockett creates photorealistic pencil drawings depicting classic and contemporary motorcycles and the lifestyle they encompass, but rather than approaching this subject matter as subculture, the objects are treated as works of exquisite art and design in their own right. Lou presents an alternative viewpoint and shapes images with precise detail, texture and reflections, and a play on light and dark to invoke memory and emotion.
We combine Lou’s works with a sense of high culture and travel as you enter the room; you are the experienced traveller and this is your room, with distinguished style and refined tastes your tailored belongings are left amidst the art that reflects your love for the enriching experiences that life has to offer.
