Inspiration is driven from travel, feeling and seeing wild and raw coastlines, to bleak and smoldering moors. Music and emotion are also translated through a visionary vehicle. He work has been inspired by artists such as Turner, Rothco. Alison's art is a place of sweeping skies, vivid colours and smouldering horizons originating in the artist’s extensive travels. Inspired by Turner and Rothco, she uses exciting spectrum of exotic colours, often those that are not found in the natural world yet which translate seamlessly into his contemporary interpretations of seascapes, landscapes and abstract visions. Her inspiration ranges from the vast open spaces and unique colours of the oceans to the incandescent colours of volcanic eruptions. Battling elements inspire Alison which produce the most dramatic and yet beautiful effects. Light and dark being very important in her work and the contrast between them to create over all balance and harmony of any piece.
