Amrita graduated in 2010, from The University of Nottingham with a Masters Degree in Architecture. As a designer, she has worked with firms in London, Mumbai, Paris and Kolkata. Art was always a passion for her that is now a prominent part of her life. She now balances her design firm and career as an artist. Her abstract style focuses on brushstrokes and mark-making while exploring the concepts of imperfection and unfinishedness.
The series of "Lost Time" is an ongoing one. It explores how we, as human beings, treat time or relate to it. The work is all abstract and in mixed media. It heavily relies on exploring the ideas of imperfection, loss, incompletion, procrastination, restlessness and misuse of time using negative white space and mark making. Considering the unique display options of the Art Rooms project, a room can be transformed into exploring how we relate to time in a confined space.
